LARC/PLSC389: Internship

INTERNSHIP: PLSC & LARC 389

PLSC389 is offered in the Fall semester and taught by Dr. Mark Carroll. Landscape Architecture students enroll in LARC389. You must make sure to get approval of your internship through Dr. Mark Carroll. We want to make sure you get the best experience out of your internship. Deadline to sign up for the course for Fall 2024 is: June 14, 2024. If you have questions please email Dr. Mark Carroll (mcarroll@umd.edu) directly.

For those of you within a major that requires the completion of LARC389 or PLSC389, otherwise known as the Landscape Architecture and Plant Science Internship courses, please be advised that advanced preparatory work is required before you will be permitted to enroll in either of these courses. The specific requirements that need to be completed before you will be permitted to enroll in LARC389 or PLSC389 can be found below.

Both LARC389 and PLSC389 are asynchronous fall semester course offerings. It is important to emphasize however, that the two courses run from July to November (dates posted on Testudo). Accordingly, students seeking academic credit for the fall semester 2024 offering of LARC389 or PLSC389 need to have their internships approved no later than June as determined by Dr. Carroll.

Students who are considering pursing an internship experience at a time other than between the spring and fall semesters should contact Dr. Carroll about their plans to see if the internship experience can be documented in a manner that will allow the student to enroll in a future offering of LARC389 or PLSC389. Work experiences done without prior approval are ineligible for LARC389 or PLSC389 academic credit.
