- Carnivorous Plants Bite Back! 10:00 am-12:30 pm
- Learn about and feed venus flytraps!
- Farm-to-Fork Food Safety 1:00 pm-4:00pm
- Enter the lab and learn about food safety from the farm to your home. Some of the highlights include: Gardening food safety, handwashing station with UV lights, how to reduce food waste at home, and ask our experts about home canning advice.

- Get a free plant planted this year by the UMD Greenhouse's faculty and staff.

- Be a genome engineer for the day. In this hands-on exercise, kids will customize their own genes, add them to a piece of DNA with molecular scissors, and repair it.

- Demonstrations for young children of how plants sense and use light
- Discover with Agricultural and Extension Education 10:00 am-4:00 pm
- Can crops handle salt? Can a plant grow without soil? AgED students will showcase interactive research demonstrations from an Ag Extension Education class to answer these questions and more!
- Veggie Tales and Parts/Solve a Fungal Puzzle 10:00 am-4:00 pm
- Hey kids! Can you tell the parts of a vegetable just by looking at it? We will ask you to identify which vegetable belongs to which part. Guess right, and you can win a prize.For adults, come and solve a puzzle about disease life cycle looking at fungi.
Research Greenhouse
- Urban Oasis: A Greenhouse Tour 10:00 am-4:00 pm
- Tour the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture's Research Greenhouse Complex. Touch and feel curious plants, learn about green roofs and current research projects, and receive a free plant. Tours begin on the half-hour.
