Varieties of scholarships are available to our students through our department, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and other sources.
Department Scholarships
Several scholarships are awarded each year based on merit and need through the Department of Plant Sciences and Landscape Architecture. They include:

College & Outside Scholarships
Academically talented freshmen compete for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources merit scholarships. Priority is given to those whose applications are complete by the first of December. A complete application includes an official high school transcript, SAT or ACT scores and a short essay highlighting your interest and experience in your intended area of study. Top scholars also compete for the University's merit scholarships which provide full financial support for four years.

The Garden Club of America Offers Many Scholarships!
Encouraging college and graduate students, doctoral candidates and recent Ph.D.s, as well as landscape architects, to consider its wide range of excellent and unusual scholarships and fellowships. There are many types of grants, fellowships, awards and scholarships available. Scholarships from the National Capital Area Garden Clubs, Inc.
The National Capital Area Garden Clubs, Inc. (NCAGC) provide scholarships to encourage students who are majoring in the study of horticulture, botany, landscape design, plant pathology, forestry, environmental concerns, biology as it relates to plants and similar subjects.. The minimum award is $3,000.The scholarships are for students who live within the National Capital Area. Washington, D.C., Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties in Maryland, and Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax and Prince William Counties in Virginia are included within that area.
